Seattle, Washington – On average, each aircraft is struck by lightning every year. This makes it essential to provide protection from these strikes, especially with the advent of new composite fuselage design. While aluminum fuselages tend to conduct lightning’s charge and wick it away, non-conductive composites need additional protection to guard against lightning strike damage. StrikegridT Continuous Expanded Aluminum Foil (CEAF) is the aircraft industry’s highest-performing lightning strike dissipation material. Because it is phosphoric acid anodized and coated with a proprietary coating, it outperforms all other ductile materials.
