El Monte, California – Stephen Gill, Chairman of M.C. Gill Corporation, is pleased to announce the company has reached a long-term supply agreement with the Boeing Company for Gillcore HK™ Honeycomb core. Under the 5 year contract, M.C. Gill Corporation will supply honeycomb core to Boeing Commercial Airplanes – Interior Responsibility Center (IRC) for interior components on the 787 Dreamliner. These components include stowage bins, class dividers, partitions, and crew rests. Gillcore HK™ is a Kevlar® N636 reinforced honeycomb core which is qualified to the Boeing BMS 8-124 material specification. It offers significant weight savings over Nomex® honeycomb core and has contributed to the overall weight reduction effort on the 787 aircraft. M.C. Gill Corporation also has a long-standing supply contract with the Boeing IRC for Gillcore HD Nomex honeycomb core for existing 737, 747, 767 and 777 aircraft programs. Jeremy Hale, Regional Sales Manager for the M.C. Gill Corporation, has worked closely with Boeing for the last few years to develop and qualify this product. “We have made the commitment to grow our business by developing new and innovative products to support our key customers. Gillcore HK Kevlar N636 honeycomb core is a key example of our ability to rapidly innovate and qualify materials to meet our customers ever evolving demands for lightweight composite materials. We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Boeing Commercial Airplanes and supporting the 787 aircraft program.” Boeing has reported over 710 orders from 50 customers for the 787 aircraft (in a variety of configurations) making it the most successful launch of a new commercial airplane in Boeing’s history. The 787 will provide airlines with unmatched fuel efficiency, resulting in exceptional environmental performance. The airplane will use 20 percent less fuel for comparable trips than today’s similarly sized airplane. M.C. Gill Corporation is the oldest, continuously operating manufacturer of “composites” in the world. The M.C. Gill Corporation was founded in 1945 and is headquartered in El Monte, California. Key products include honeycomb core, sandwich panels, and cargo liners for the aerospace industry.
