Former Cubmaster M.C. Gill Recognized by Boy Scouts

El Monte, California – 9 November 2003 – Active in a Cub Scout Pack between 1950 and 1956, M.C. Gill kept his Cubmaster uniform all these years and has worn it numerous times on Halloween. Today, David Cardenas, Senior District Executive for The Boy Scouts of America San Gabriel Valley Council, presented M.C. with a plaque acknowledging the decades he has honored his scouting experience in this way. “At 93 years of age I can still wear my uniform, in fact, it pretty much still fits,” said M.C. Gill, the founder and chairman of the board of the M.C. Gill Corporation. The company is a leader in high performance composite products used principally in aerospace applications. “When my sons Steve and Phil were Cub Scouts in San Marino, California, we used to play Inter-Pack football, basketball, baseball and even had a Scout-O-Rama Pack track meet, too. It was a great activity for families. I feel that pulling my old uniform out of the closet and wearing it is my way of remembering that positive Scout experience.” As former Cubmaster M.C. Gill presented the Scouts with a donation, he quipped, “This should make up for some of my past dues. I hope Scouting keeps growing strong, more kids keep getting involved in it and everyone shows their support.”
