M.C. Gill Corporation Celebrates Annual Company Hamming

El Monte, California – The entire staff from M.C. Gill Corporation recently gathered to participate in a 56 year old company tradition, “The Hamming”. Merwyn C. Gill, known as “M.C.” initiated this celebration 55 years ago when the company was located in Montebello, California, as a holiday thanks to the employees at his company. Originally, each employee was given a ham and a bottle of whiskey. As time went by and the employee base changed, the gift evolved into a ham and a large box of candy. The company has grown from an operation with a staff of less than 12, to a global company with over 700 employees and 4 subsidiaries. Stephen Gill, Chairman of the Board and CEO, leads the daily operations at the company headquarters in El Monte, California. On September 11, 2010, M.C. Gill Corporation celebrated their 65th Anniversary at a dinner event held at the El Monte campus. M.C. Gill Corporation is the oldest, continuously operating manufacturer of reinforced plastics – called “composites” – in the world. M.C. Gill Corporation is headquartered in El Monte, CA.
