M.C. Gill Corporation Chairman and CEO, Stephen Gill met with Lillian Rey, representing the El Monte/South El Monte Emergency Resources Association (ERA), to present a donation to support the organization. Stephen Gill tendered a check to Rey for $25,000.
The ERA was incorporated in 1956 by a group of local citizens who recognized a gap in services for people in need within the community. The ERA publishes an informational brochure that states “Up to 5,000 individuals receive assistance each month. Aid is given to help them meet their immediate needs and get them back on their feet fast. Each request for assistance is evaluated on an individual basis. Services provided include motel vouchers, clothing, shoes, homeless kits, diapers, blankets, emergency food, information and referral, transportation, medical supplies and related assistance.”
The Gills have been long standing supporters of the San Gabriel Valley community and have provided financial support to many local charities including the Savannah Historical Cemetery, Huntington Hospital, San Gabriel Counsel of the Boy Scouts and the Salvation Army. The Gills are pleased to provide this assistance during a time when so many are in dire need.
