Gillfab® 5120

Overview

Gillfab® 5120 is a very thin sandwich panel made with aluminum skins and aluminum honeycomb.

Applications

The panel is designed for flooring, cabinetry and instrument panels in general aviation aircraft. The panel is more rigid than plate aluminum of the same thickness but weighs 50% less.

Features

Lighter weight, lower cost and stronger than traditional aluminum sheeting
Can be routed, sawed and drilled like sheet aluminum
Good bolted joint pull-out. Inserts not required
Adhesive not affected by aircraft lubricants, cleaning fluids or fuel
Panel can withstand 190°F for long term and 300°F for short term without marked deterioration of physical and/or mechanical properties
